How did you get started in fitness?
I got started in fitness competing and modeling about a year ago. A few of my girlfriends, that had been in fitness for years, convinced me to start training to compete. I’ve been hooked ever since!
How do you stay motivated?
To stay motivated I set a reasonable goal, take before and after pictures and take measurements so I can see my progress. I also like to keep a fitness magazine around in my car or purse so that I have a constant reminder of what I really want. I also like to reward myself with a little something new to wear to the gym.
What’s the best part about being a fitness competitor?
The best part of being a fitness competitor is the rush of going on stage and getting to show off all your hard work.
What does your diet consist of?
My diet consists of lean protein, lots of nutrient rich vegetables, green apples, plant based protein powders(for the lactose intolerant), moderate complex carbohydrates, sprouted nuts, and coconut oil.
What body part are you most proud of?
My legs! I’m tall and have long legs so putting muscle on them is not easy. I’m not where I want to be yet but I’ve definitely made some big changes.
What is the biggest fitness myth you encounter in the fitness industry every day?
It has to be that fitness girls don’t eat. That is NOT the case! In fact we eat all day long.
What’s your favorite cheat meal?
This is a tuff question to answer, I guess I would say pizza. That is if I don’t find a hot dog, cheeseburger, frozen yogurt, or donut shop on the way to the pizza place.
What are your 3 favorite exercises?
My three favorite exercises are dead lifts, Hindu push-ups, and pull ups.
What supplements would you use/recommend if any?
I’m a big fan of getting my nutrients from super foods and all natural supplements. There is one amazing product I love, it’s called Kre-a-fem by All American EFX.
Do you like modeling or competing more?
I really love the rush and excitement that comes along with competing. I’m a sporty girl most of the time but when it comes time to compete I get to be extra girly with the sparkles, makeup and hair.
