How and when did you get started in training and living a fit lifestyle?
I started training and lifting weights 3 years ago. It was all new to me, and the closest to lifting I had done before was in cheerleading. LOL I found lifting and eating healthy as a way for me to get my body in shape after 3 children. Today, I take pride in sharing that with other woman that you can still have a “dream body” after children.
What types of cardio have worked best for you and what’s a typical workout you do during the week?
I love doing HIIT and fasted cardio. My body responds well to HIIT cardio and it can be so creative from kettle ball swings to sprints, really you can’t get bored with that type of workout. I like to keep my workouts fast paced and perform active rest rather than just sitting around. Wednesday’s are my leg and booty day as I like to call it, I lift heavy and give it all I got for my exercises. I start with cable kick backs, leg press, calf raises, curtsie lunges, straight leg deadlifts, and glute bridges to name a few.
What supplements do you use… and what are some of your favorites you would recommend?
I am actually a BPI SPORTS Athlete and use nothing but BPI! My “must try” list includes the Best BCAA in Fruit Punch, Pump HD in Wicked Fruit Blast, and all our proteins come in amazing flavors! Try the S’mores flavor though as it becoming my absolute favorite!
Since this is a Valentines Day special, what’s the best valentines gift you’ve ever been given? Hmm.. the best Valentine’s Day gift I have been given was Houston Astros Baseball tickets. I am a huge baseball fan and going to the games is one of my favorite hobbies.
What should I guy do to catch the eye of a fitness girl?
He should have nice strong shoulders and buy her pizza! : ) That’s a keeper!
When you look back what do you think has been the key to achieving your goals?
Persistence. Without it I know I would not have accomplished half of things I have achieved. That and I have an amazing support system.
What’s one of your favorite quotes?
Ahh, I have so many, but here is one. “Never let the fear of striking out… keep you from playing the game.”
What’s next for you?
I really hope what’s next for me includes more features or publications, continuing to share my story of transformation with others and to continue to be successful in my endeavors.
