What is one thing you’re most excited about, being on Team Fitness Gurls?
Being surrounded by such enthusiastic and positive women in the fitness industry. Fitness Gurls has brought us all together and given us a great opportunity to work with each other and get to know one another even when we are living in different states or countries.
What was your biggest challenge in your fitness journey?
Trusting the process of a good coach and not giving in to the negative thoughts and doubts. I am very lucky to have a coach (Kim Oddo) who has prepped a lot of very successful athletes and has seen & heard it all. When I come to him with my doubts and fears he is very calm and has to remind me to just stick to the plan and trust the process.
Do you have any advice or inspirational words for someone who is aspiring to get into the fitness world?
Not everyone will love a certain type of body so make sure you are doing this for yourself! You have to love the body you are creating regardless of what a neighbor, co-worker or someone on social media might think.
You have to love yourself first. Everyone has different features that make them unique and different. This is a good thing!
You’re part of our Australia Fitness Gurls Team, which is turning out to be a very exciting Team to be a part of. How is the fitness scene in Australia?
We have a great fitness culture in Australia. We are a country who loves the outdoors and are blessed to have some of the most beautiful beaches and reefs in the world.
We have a diverse range of climates and terrains so we are lucky enough to go skiing in the winter and surfing in the summer and be in the same state!
You’re one of the few IFBB Pros from Australia, is the plan to step on that Olympia stage one day?
That would be amazing! At the moment Australia only has one pro show a year so in order for an Aussie pro to qualify we have to compete overseas quite a bit and choose our shows carefully as traveling and living in hotels and apartments can be added stress to the already big preparations it takes to compete in an IFBB pro show.
I heard you’re coming to the Fitness Gurls Olympia Pool Party September 20th in Las Vegas?
Yes!! I’m so excited to see all the girls together, everyone who is involved in the magazine and of course everyone who loves Fitness Gurls as much as I have over the years.
Outside a bunch of cool and exciting stuff with Fitness Gurls, what’s next for Sarah Allen?
I will be back in the U.S. For November to compete and to have my first thanksgiving. Bring on pumpkin spiced everything! Then 2016 will be a very exciting year with Fitness Gurls magazine launching in Australia and more travels, competing & adventures with fellow Fitness Gurls.
