>How did you get started in the fitness industry?
Fitness has always been a part of my life. As a child, I had ADHD and a lot of energy to burn. My parents put me in dance, soccer, softball and any other activity that would burn up some of my energy. My primary focus became cheerleading because I would end up doing back handsprings around the field of whatever sport I was supposed to be playing. I had a cheerleading scholarship through college and found myself missing the physical activity once I graduated. I started running tough mudders, competing in CrossFit and lifting weights to feel the same endorphin rush that I so badly missed.

How do you stay motivated in your career?
2. It’s easy to stay motivated when you are doing what makes you happy and you are able to impact others in a positive way. I think my nephews are my biggest fitness motivators though! I have three nephews that think I’m really cool because “I have big muscles and can do lots of push ups!” They always practice doing push-ups and challenge me to a competition when I see them! If your running low on motivation, a child looking up to you will always kick your booty into gear!

What was your biggest challenge in your fitness journey?
3. My biggest challenge in my fitness journey is definitely cheesecake. Just kidding! Cheesecake looks like a good answer for the next question! I think most of us have the same fitness challenges like fitting in the time and finding exercises that we enjoy. When you are focused on fitness, sometimes others can make you feel like you are selfish and only worried about your outward appearance. I’ve had people assume this about me and later find out that fitness is just something that I love!

What are your favorite clean foods and splurge foods?
4. I absolutely love eating a huge salad! I grow my own lettuce and vegetables and top them with chicken and a homemade dressing! I’m sure that it’s “all in my head” but I feel like health is flowing through my body. Ha! Cheesecake is my favorite splurge food. In an interview, I was once asked what my biggest weakness was and responded with “CHEESECAKE” without even thinking about it! Oops!

How was your amazing trip to Costa Rica and what was your favorite part of the trip?
5. Costa Rica was the most amazing trip I’ve ever been on! It isn’t often you go on a trip with a ton of girls that you’ve only really met through the internet and there are instant friendships! Fitness really has a way of bringing good people into your life! I can’t decide if my favorite part was shooting with two amazing photographers (that I’ve been dying to shoot with for years), seeing wild monkeys all around me or riding four wheelers to the most beautiful waterfall I’ve ever seen. Hmm, I might have to do it all over again to decide!
