This weekend the MMA world will witness the Ultimate Fighter 17 finale. This card is filled with many exciting fights that will feature the main event match between the California kid Uriah Faber and Scott Jorgensen. The second main event will feature Uriah Hall and Kelvin Gastelum for the Ultimate Fighter 17 Championship. Below is a preview of Saturday night’s live telecast.
A big match between two very tough heavyweights. Gonzaga is looking solid coming off of 3 straight submission victories over fighters Ben Rothwell, Parker Porter, and Ednaldo Oliveira. Travis Browne is coming off of his only loss of his career to Antonio Silva from October of last year.
PREDICTION: This should be a competitive fight between two very strong strikers and grapplers. Gonzaga has more of an advantage on the ground, but Browne looks stronger on the feet. Look for Gonzaga to sneak out a decision victory.
This should be a very exciting women’s match that features two very balanced fighters. Zingano is undefeated and looks to continue this trend by using her aggressiveness and strength. In 7 fights Zingano has won by 3 submissions, 3 KO’s, and only 1 by decision. Miesha Tate comes into the match with a 13-3 record with one of her losses coming from UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champ Ronda Rousey. Tate is a submission specialist with 6 of her 13 wins coming by submission.
PREDICTION: Miesha Tate should be able to win this fight based on her takedown abilities,
experience and jiu jitsu skills.

The co main event between two fighters from season 17 of the Ultimate Fighter. Both fighters have looked very impressive during the show and have a combined overall record of 12-2. At the conclusion of the show Hall beat up Dylan Andrews and Gastelum his submission skills to win over Josh Samman. Both fighters are very experienced and aggressive in the octagon.
PREDICTION: Many experts have this one as a tossup. As stated above both fighters have very good cage experience and both are very motivated to win the TUF season 17 title. Look for Hall to use his ground and pound to squeeze out a victory over Gastelum.
The main event features two very inconsistent fighters that have 2-2 records in their last 4 fights. Jorgenson is coming off of an exciting submission victory over John Albert, but before that fight was on a 2 fight losing streak. Faber is also coming off a big victory to Ivan Menjivar, but before that fight lost to Renan Barao by decision.
PREDICTION: Faber will have the wrestling and ground game advantage in my opinion. Faber should be able to use his ground game to win either by decision or TKO.
