How did you get started with bodybuilding?
I had always been into fitness ad wanted to compete but I always came up with excuses for myself: I travel to much, I’m always on the go, I work long hours. One day I met this amazing girl while working a convention who I’m now lucky enough to call a close friend. Andrea Miele broke all my excuses in this one trip. We were in another state, she had brought all her food, and would get up early every morning to get her workout in. She lit a fire under my ass. And the rest is history!
Where does your motivation come from?
I want to be the best at everything I do. I’m fortunate enough to have such a strong support system behind me especially with my coach Jonathon Cote. When you have that many people to believe in you as much as you do you can’t help but push it to the max.
What workout routine has worked best for you?
I do fasted sprints during contest prep.
Monday-Legs
Tuesday-Back
Wednesday-Shoulders
Thursday-Legs
Friday-Arms
Saturday-Shoulders
Sunday-Off
This is obviously to fit my body- my upper body responds very fast to weight lifting so we try not to train it too much so I don’t become not proportionate.
If you had to pick only 3 exercises, what would they be and why? Gluten kickbacks, lateral raises, and lower back extensions. Because a booty, the tie in of the shoulders, and the lower back are so sexy to me!
How long do you spend in the gym during a typical workout?
Normally about an hour and a half.
We know consistency is key, what tips would you give to anyone struggling to stay consistent?
Find motivation that works for you! Everyone is different and what may be motivating for me may not be for you. Maybe you want to look good for your significant other? Maybe you have a reunion coming up or work party? Or summer is right around the corner? Find the motivation that lights that fire and have tunnel vision on it!
What is your diet like?
I normally start with egg whites and oatmeal, then a snack of a protein shake (just because I’m normally on the go), Talapia/asparagus/ and sweet potatoes is normally lunch, chicken/veggies/rice for the next meal, another protein shake before the gym, and egg whites before bed
How do you deal with cravings for cheat meals?
I make my protein shakes into ice cream in the blender. Some egg whites, protein powder, cinnamon, stevia, and a lot of ice! It has helped me deal with cravings so much!! And probably why i’ve incorporated it twice a day!! Yum!
When trying to cut down do you prefer to use HIIT or just normal cardio?
HIIT all the way! I can see such a difference in a short amount of time! Is phenomenal!
Who do you look up to in the fitness industry you believe are really doing great in this industry?
I love Amanda Latona, Janet Layug (a friend of mine), and Justine Munro. All booty queens with hearts of gold. I’m a firm believer you can be famous but if your not nice I will not support you. Fans gave you what you have and they can take it away in a heart beat!
What is your supplementation like?
I get all my supplements from Octane Nutrition. I’m taking GAT Superfuel as well as pyro, Barleans fish oil, MCT, and CLA, Right now I have Quest Protein powder, and taking L Carnitine. Pretty simple
What’s your favorite motivational quote?
Dream big, be passionate, stay driven, and simply believe. -Me =]
