Caitlyn Bellamy – Gym Crush – Interview & Photos

How and when did you get started in training and living a fit lifestyle?
I have always been athletic, I played volleyball, basketball, ran cross country and did Tae Kwon Do when I
was a kid and into my teenage years. When I met my husband in my early 20’s he introduced me to the gym and I have been hooked ever since. Having a spouse who is as passionate about fitness as I definitely make living a healthy lifestyle a lot easier.

What got you started in the fitness industry?
Originally I saw my mother compete in a fitness competition about 10 years ago and thought I would really like to do that one day so the following year I hired a trainer and begin prepping for my first show.
That gave me a “taste” of the fitness world but it wasn’t until the following year when I hired a
well-known trainer out the US and he sent in my photos to a magazine and they ended up getting published that really gave me a name in the industry. Since then I have competed in 10+ shows and had the pleasure of being published in fitness magazines around the world. I feel truly blessed to have been given all these amazing opportunities, waking up and doing what I love every day is the best feeling in the world.

Along with your fitness journey, have you ever felt like quitting… and if so what/who motivated you to keep going?
I would be lying if I said I was motivated 365 days of the year, but the truth is I have good and bad days just like everyone else. Fortunately, I am surrounded by my amazing clients daily,
and they play a huge role in my success. You can’t help but want to be your best when you ’re around individuals who are giving 100% to try and make healthy changes.

I also have two wonderful children and being a good role model for living a healthy lifestyle is very important to me.

What types of cardio have worked best for you?
I have always been a runner, there is something so freeing about getting on a trail, putting in your headphones and just going. Unfortunately, due to a knee injury I have been forced to keep my cardio on either a spin bike or step mill, it’s not my favorite form of cardio but I have noticed the most progress in my lower body since I stop running long distance.

What supplements do you use… and what are some of your favorites you would recommend?
I am so lucky to be sponsored by Magnum Nutraceuticals, their products are absolutely
amazing and definitely play a role in keeping my physique in tip-top shape.

Here are a few of my favorites:
Quattro – I am lactose intolerant so I absolutely love that Quattro is lactose-free. I have used the
Chocolate Love flavor every day for the past year. So good!
Heat and Acid – I take daily, Heat before cardio and Acid before meals, both are amazing for fat loss.
Hi-5 – If anyone is ever going to OD on BCAA’s it will be this girl, I absolutely LOVE this product. I really find it helps with muscle soreness and tastes amazing.
Mimic – I take with every carb meal and on my cheat days.
G-Spring – Our newest product and maybes our best yet! I’ve been using G-Spring every night for the past month and it has improved my sleep immensely. I wake up feeling refreshed, rested and ready to seize the day.

When you look back what do you think has been the key to achieving your goals?
My passion for health and fitness. I see lots of people “faking it” in the gym, but I genuinely love training and eating healthy. I started this journey over 8 years ago and in that time I haven’t taken more than a few weeks off from the gym, I love what I do and that plays a huge role in me reaching my goals and being successful.

What’s one tip you would give to a person just starting their fitness journey?
Don’t compare yourself to people who have been training for years, it takes time to build a well-sculpted physique so have patience.

What’s one of your favorite quotes?
“In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take”

What’s next for you?
Right now I am currently taking some time off from shooting to spend with my family after a
very busy fall, but I will be kicking my training into high gear in the late spring to prepare for upcoming appearances and shoots at the Olympia in September.
